Anxiety & Depression

A serene sunset over a calm body of water with reflections of the sky and rocks in the foreground.

“I feel like I’m constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop.”

“I know theologically that I am loved and held, but I don’t feel it in my body.”

“I feel heavy, foggy, and deeply disconnected from the people I love.”

Sound familiar? I see you.

Trauma can feel like a fracture in the soul, blocking our ability to live in the fullness of the present moment. It creates patterns in the nervous system that make the world feel unsafe and God feel distant. Whether it shows up as a struggle to maintain your livelihood or a difficulty in forming holy, healthy connections, trauma impacts the whole person.

But theologically and somatically, we know that suffering does not have the final word.

By integrating somatic counseling with a deep respect for your faith, we work to release the 'stuck' patterns of the past. You are not the trauma you have endured; you are a person of infinite dignity. Together, we will invite the body and spirit back into a state of harmony and peace.

Cultivating

The sacred ground

Using somatic orientation, I support you in building a foundation of internal safety. We move slowly and with great care, ensuring you feel fully resourced—physically and spiritually—to face the challenges ahead.

“The body is a temple; we begin by making it a place of rest.”

Honoring

The internal story

By tuning into the "felt sense" of your experience, we identify unresolved patterns held in your nervous system. We titrate this process, intentionally and curiously dipping into activation only as much as you are ready to hold.

“We look beneath the surface to find where grace is waiting to move.”

reclaiming

your vitality

Through pendulation—moving between your grounding resources and the areas of distress—we gently release what is "stuck." You will learn to move from a state of survival into a life of presence, flexibility, and peace.

“You are empowered to navigate life’s storms with a resilient heart.”

because, At the end of the day:

your healing can change everything.

  • In the Christian tradition, we believe the body is a "temple"—it is the physical space where our spiritual life is lived out. Often, we try to pray or think our way out of struggles, but our nervous system is still stuck in a state of survival. By using Somatic Experiencing, we aren't ignoring your faith; we are preparing the "soil" of your body to better receive the peace and grace you seek. We work to align your physical state with your spiritual values.

  • Absolutely. I recognize that for many, faith has been a source of both comfort and deep pain. I provide a 'trauma-informed' spiritual space where we can move at your pace, honoring your boundaries and your need for safety as you navigate your path toward restoration.

  • Traditional Christian counseling often focuses on scripture, prayer, and cognitive shifts (changing how you think). While those are beautiful tools, my approach adds a somatic (body-centered) lens. We focus on how your trauma, anxiety, or grief is physically stored in your nervous system. We believe that "The Word became flesh," and therefore, our healing must involve the flesh. We integrate clinical SE techniques with theological depth to ensure you are healing as a whole person—mind, body, and soul.
